iPhone 5 At WWDC 2011, Here’s Why Not

There are some of the iPhone faithful that still hold out hope that Apple will announce the next generation iOS smartphone next week at WWDC 2011, but basically it is wasted hope and the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S if you wish to call it that isn’t going to be announced.

And here are a few reasons why the iPhone 5 wont be at the Worldwide Developer Conference 2011 in San Francisco next week according to the guys over at Gottabemobile, who have come up with five reasons Apple will not announce the next generation iPhone.

So here are those reasons, first apparently major insiders are saying it will not happen, trustworthy Jim Dalrmple of Loop Insight has said so and so has AllThingsD’s John Paczkopwski, another trustworthy source and even Reuters has taken the line that the iPhone 5 wont appear.

Next comes quantity, in Q2 of 2011 Apple shifted some 18.65 million iPhone units in the quarter, and Apple isn’t really of that much of a hurry to push out a replacement, and no doubt that before Apple does deliver the iPhone 5 they will want to make sure the antenna issues of previous don’t happen again.

Probably the main reason to understand that the iPHone 5 wont make an appearance at WWDC 2011 is because Apple has already let it be known that the event will be all about operating systems, iOS 5, Mac OS X Lion and probably their new iCloud.

Another reason could be that the iOS faithful want a 4G LTE enabled iPhone, and Apple is waiting for LTE to mature before they deliver a 4G enabled iPhone handset, which could possibly be the iPhone 5 sometime next year, although there is rumour that Apple may apparently push out a 4G iPhone just for AT&T while Verizon has to wait, but personally I can’t see Apple cutting out Verizon like that can you?

Lastly, Apple finally delivered the white iPhone 4 not too long ago and no doubt Apple wants to extend the shelf life of the white iPhone 4 for quite a while and thus no doubt wont offer another iOS handset just yet.

So there are a few reasons as to why Apple will not announce the iPhone 5 during WWDC 2011, unless you can come up with a suitable argument as to why Apple should? Of course Apple being Apple and they do as they please, could always surprise and actually announce the iPhone 5 against all the odds however unlikely.

  1. I wish you & others would STOP making the white iPhone 4 a reason why the 4S/5 wouldn’t come out. It’s JUST a color. nothing new about it. anyone who wanted an iPhone 4 got one beforehand and anyone who KNOWS apple keeps up with their refresh cycle. Plus, Apple could always offer a reimbursement/exchange to white iPhone 4 users if the iPhone 5 does come out.

There is no way that Apple will offer a reimbursement/exchange for the white iPhone 4. For Apple its all about one thing called…. REVENUE. They didn’t hold off on releasing the white iPhone 4 until they had perfected their design/ material combination and everything that went into it just to sell a couple million of the phone and then 4 months later release the next generation iPhone. They put too much money into the white iPhone 4 to do something like that. However, IF they released the iPhone 5 this soon after the white iPhone 4 release, they would not offer any type of exchange between white iPhone 4 and the new 5. However both ways whether they offered an exchange or just released the next generation phone during the timeframe they usually do, both would kill their revenues for their recently produced phone and would ulitmatley put a halt to the number of units of the 4 they would sell.. and YES they may lower the price but that means another huge hit to sales and revenue. Look at the 3GS, Apple and AT&T are STILL trying to squeeze every penny out of that phone, first 99 dollars I believe, and now down to $49? I’m sorry but no company would input that much money into a product just to let it fizzle off within several months of release.

guess what i think apple is just slipping these details away and announcing that they are going to unveil the iOS 5 and icloud so that people think that the iPhone 4S or 5 is not coming so they are much more surprised when steve says and one more thing
