HP TouchPad US Release Date and Price Confirmed

For those in the good ole US of A who may have been hanging in there to pick up the webOS tablet coming out of the HP camp, namely the HP TouchPad, you just might like to know that your wait for the 9.7-inch tablet will soon be coming to an end as HP has confirmed the US release date and price.

According to an article over on Slash Gear, the WiFi version of HP’s first tablet is to release in the United States as of the first of July and commands a price tag of $499.99 for the WiFi-only 16GB model and $599.99 for the 32GB version.

A few days after the HP TouchPad is launched in the US, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Ireland will follow with Canada gaining the webOS tablet in the middle of July, and Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Singapore, and Hong Kong will gain the device later in the year.

Apparently the HP tablet supports the HP Touch-to-Share tech, which allows the sharing of data between the HP TouchPad and webOS enabled smartphones like the HP Veer simply via touching the phone against the tablet, perhaps something Apple can steal with their next iOS update…who knows.
