Microsoft Planning Windows 8 Tablet

Now we all know that the tablet space is currently dominated by Apple gear such as the Apple iPad 2, but Android tablets aren’t doing too bad either, but it appears that another tablet may be heading for the mobile space to take on iOS and Android, a Windows 8 tablet from Microsoft could be on its way.

According to an article over on Technobuffalo, by way of Chinese site DigiTimes, the word is Microsoft is planning on delivering a Windows 8 powered tablet to the tablet arena towards the end of 2012.

Here’s what the DigiTimes article claims…“Facing Apple’s iOS and App Store successful assistance in helping iPhone and iPad to gain shares in the smartphone, tablet PC and even PC market, while Google has also been working aggressively on developing operating systems and establishing its own supply chain alliance, Microsoft plans to copy its branding strategy from product lines such as Xbox 360, Zune, Kin smartphone and TV, to compete in the tablet PC segment.”

Thus it would appear that there just might be a Windows 8 tablet coming out to play at some point, but would Microsoft be able to compete in the tablet market as by the time a Windows tablet hit the streets no doubt the Apple iPad 3 or even iPad 4 will be around let alone how many new Android tablets come out.

So, if Microsoft did deliver a Windows tablet at some point in the future, would any of our readers purchase the device?
