Honeycomb Acer Iconia Tab A501 Visits FCC Heading AT&T Way

Those that have been patiently awaiting the arrive of the Acer Iconia Tab A501 tablet, which AT&T announced back in March, and is actually the 3G model of the Acer Iconia Tab A500 with AT&T flavours, may be pleased to know that the Android slate is now visiting the FCC.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo and by way of Wireless Goodness, the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet has actually passed through the FCC and sports 850/1900 bands for the AT&T network along with V and WCDMA II bands.

The Acer Android slate also packs HSDPA and HSUPA but there is no mention of HSPA+, and apparently the word is AT&T is looking to push out the Acer Iconia Tab A501in the second quarter although currently there is no concrete release date or pricing available.

It is hoped however that the Acer Inconia Tab A501 will get bumped up from Android 3.0 to Android 3.1 Honeycomb at some point in the not too distant future. So any of our readers hanging on in there to snap up the Acer Iconia Tab A501 once AT&T gets it some shelf space?
