HP TouchPad and Pre 3 Rogers Release Dates

For those over in Canada and who are Rogers faithful, you will soon be able to get your hands on some HP gear in the form of the new HP TouchPad webOS tablet and the HP Pre 3 smartphone, and apparently word has now come down as to when Rogers will offer the HP devices.

According to the guys over at Unwired View, the guys at Mobile Syrup have been tipped off by the usual anonymous sources that the HP TouchPad will be available from Rogers as of the 15th of July, so still a bit of a wait.

Apparently price wise, although Rogers hasn’t confirmed any pricing a leaked document shows that the HP TouchPad will be offered for $499 for the 16GB model and $599 for the 32GB slate, and currently it isn’t clear whether Rogers will have exclusivity over the device or not.

As for the HP Pre 3, the word is Rogers will also offer the successor to the Palm Pre 2 as of the 19th of July, no word on what Rogers will ask for the webOS smartphone yet though. So there it is for what its worth, anyone in Canada interested in picking up one of these HP devices?

  1. I may be the only one but I want one of these so much and have been regularly scouring the net for any news! I’m a big fan of WebOS and am very happy with the intuitive way it works on my Pre. Admittedly, getting the Pre to a state that was useful took an effort and a bunch of aftermarket and homebrew apps but I expect now that HP is behind the devices many of those seemingly obvious shortcomings will be solved out-of-the-box. If I can get one of these I’ll gladly get rid of my laptop and PCs… all I need is my phone and a Touchpad and I’m a happy guy!

    1. As of now there is still not a U.S. confirmed date for the HP Pre 3. Although most countries are getting the HP Touchpad on July 1st, Canadians are lucky to get the HP Pre 3 perhaps earlier than the U.S. There are nearly 7 million webOS (some source) users now so you are definitely not the only optimistic one.

I’m also eagerly looking forward to the Pre 3. Still using a Treo 680 & Centro, both on life support. I did try the Pre 2 but needed to return it to Rogers when it was unable to transfer my 1500 contacts from theTreo & Centro to the Pre 2. The provided software just didn’t work and the Palm guys (in India?…) threw up their collective hands in defeat! I pray HP will have something that works for the Pre 3 or it will be useless to me.
