US Android Tablet Summer Launch Planned by Lenovo

It appears that Chinese computer and smartphone maker Lenovo is gearing up to launch a few tablets later in the summer. Apparently Lenovo will launch a couple of Android based tablets in the United States and will follow up with a Microsoft Windows based tablet later in the year.

According to the guys over ta Eurodroid and by way of the Wall Street Journal, there will be two Lenovo Android Honeycomb 10-inch tablets launched in the US this summer, one targeted towards businesses and the other towards consumers.

The consumer version Android tablet will be branded “IdeaPad” and the business version will be branded “ThinkPad” and will comes with a stylus, and apparently will be priced from $450 up to $900 dependent on configuration.

Later in the year, before Microsoft release Windows 8, Lenovo plan on delivering a 10-inch Windows tablet, and will apparently follow up with 7-inch tablets “later in the cycle,” not too sure if those 7-inch slates will be Android or windows though.

Apparently the Android based Lenovo slates will go on sale in the US in July and August, no other details or any pictures of the devices are available at the moment.
