Droid Bionic vs. iPhone 5:

The Motorola Droid Bionic phone is releasing soon (This Summer), and the Apple iPhone 5 expected this October are two really good smartphones that can be pitted together. Obviously we know the specifications and features of the Droid Bionic, and if all the rumoured features on the iPhone 5 do come true then we can see a great battle here.

Both of these smartphones are right up in the hype clouds, and hopefully they can both live up to the hype. Is this going to be the hardest decision customers have ever had to make, see what we think and then please cast your vote below this article.

The iPhone 5 will come with the new iOS 5 operating system with improved notification system, iMessaging, and iCloud integration and much more, at the moment the new iOS 5 is in Beta 3 stages. Obviously the new update will be much better on the iPhone 5 as it will have a few more features.

The Droid Bionic comes will be release with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, some prefer the Android OS and some really love the smooth iOS, we suppose this is all down to personal reference if you are an Android lover or Apple lover really.

If the iPhone 5 release this year with a 4-inch edge-to-edge screen, then it gives it good credit to go up against the Droid Bionic’s 4-3inch display, the iPhone 5 will have yet again Retina display and the Bionic will have TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colours Size 540 x 960 pixels. Both handsets will feature Multi-touch input method, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, and Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Touch-sensitive controls.

So it seems the iPhone 5 will still have a smaller screen than the Droid Bionic, but this is a good thing really because one the larger screen will drain the battery, and when 4G LTE is fully up and running in your area you will wish you had a smaller screen.

The iPhone 5 will possibly have the same processor as the iPad 2 with an extra 9x boost in graphics and 2x boost in CPU performance according to Gotta Be Mobile, the iPhone will have technology within that will slow the processor down in return reserving battery life, the A5 iPhone processor has a lot of power to give you rich newly developed apps and trust us when we say these apps will be immense. Look at the difference between the iPad 1 and the iPad 2, says it all really doesn’t it.

Ok the Droid Bionic will have gaming apps, but iOS has many more and some say iOS is still ahead in quality. This brings us to something interesting to the table, Android is getting more and more popular each day and Android job trends prove this. If you read our previous article titled “HTML5 / Android Jobs: Trends point to increase”, this reports that Android is up a massive 20% going from 1419 to 1702 jobs.

There are many after market accessories for the iPhone, and when the iPhone 5 releases this year aftermarket accessory retailers will have millions of different products to cater.

The iPhone 5 will be available with many carriers, such as AT&T, Verizon, O2, Orange, Vodafone, possibly Sprint and many more around the world. The Motorola Droid Bionic will only be available to Verizon customers, sorry but the iPhone 5 will get more sales here.

There is no official news of release date, specifications on the iPhone yet, so it is all hear say. If the iPhone 5 gets the speculated features then it will be a hard smartphone to beat in our eyes.

We have set up a simple poll below; please do pick what phone you would prefer the most.

Considering it is all rumors, he might have it right. The only things we really KNOW are that it’ll have a dual-core processor (Tegra or OMAP-4), that it’ll be running LTE, it’ll have two cameras, and HDMI mirror-mode. The rest is speculation.

It is so clear from the report that you are either working for Verizon or huge supporter of Andriod. That’s the reason your repor tis nothing but TRASH Advertizing!

What are you reading? He gives the iPhone the edge in every category. Says the Bionic screen is too big, wrote a whole paragraph on the iPhone’s processor, and gives them the edge in gaming. Then goes on to say it will outsell the Bionic.

Don’t know now it just looks way to big and borning like the Droid X2 I liked it so much more when it had it that slick design like the iphone.

The Blackberry Storm 1 and 2 are complete garbage. But the droid is nothing like them. Specs wise the 4g is reason ALONE to get the Bionic over the Iphone 5.

  3. If the Bionic is going with the OMAP CPU, which from benchmarks, would appear to be true, then there is no performance difference between the Apple A5 and the Bionic. They are both Arm Cortex-A9’s with PowerVR SGX540 series chips.

  4. And the iPhone processor and the Bionic are, in essence, identical. Obviously this person is biased and hasn’t done their homework.

Both the A5 and the TI OMAP chips are ARM Coretex-A9’s with PowerVR SGX540 chips.

  6. I’m glad that the majority of people want to buy an iPhone 5. Mainly because it will probably not have a 4G LTE radio in it so while all of you get your Apple fix there will be less phones on the 4G LTE network which I will be on with the Bionic or Galaxy S II.

excuse me? a smaller screen is a good thing because it doesn’t drain the battery? very very very bad argument.
example: this phone has a very slow cpu, but that’s actually better than a fast cpu cause it doesn’t drain the battery.
sometimes people prefer a bigger screen, sometimes people prefer a smaller screen. don’t put your opinion as an argument in a comparison, that’s just stupid.
