Galaxy 3D Smartphone Possibly Coming From Samsung

As you are probably aware the next big deal in the mobile space looks to be the capability of doing 3D content, with LG and HTC both taking the first steps with the tech in the HTC EVO 3D and LG Optimus 3D, and the word doing the rounds now is that Samsung is possibly working on a 3D enabled smartphone for their Galaxy range.

According to an article over on Android Community by way of the Sammy Hub, word has it that Samsung has told Korean website ETNews that they are working on a Samsung Galaxy 3D capable smartphone to challenge such devices as the LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D.

Apparently the new smartphone will be aptly named the Samsung Galaxy 3D and the word on specs for the device is that it will pack a 4.3-inch touch screen, have glasses free technology with twin 8 megapixel cameras, and powered by a 1.2 GHz Exynos dual core processor.

Operating system wise it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy 3D will launch carrying Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but rumour has it that as the smartphone probably won’t see launch until later there is a possibility that the device could come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which should be available by the time the handset is released.

Other speculation on the Samsung Galaxy 3D is that the handset will probably come with HDMI-out or HD TV out for outputting 3D content to 3D enabled televisions, no doubt of the Samsung variety, but other than that not much is known thus far.

The rumour is that old Sammy is looking to have the Samsung Galaxy 3D ready by Q4, but again that is just rumour for now, but probably by then both LG and HTC will have an upgraded version of their own 3D capable smartphones in the works as well.

Recently images hit the net waves of a purported iPhone 5 with twin cameras for 3D functionality, although as with most things Apple, said images are probably fake, and Apple are almost always quite a bit behind other smartphone makers when it comes to delivering the latest technology, so the likelihood of the iPhone 5 being 3D capable is negligible.

So there you have it the latest word on a new Samsung smartphone, so what do our readers think about having a Samsung Galaxy 3D come out to play at some point, does the device capture your interest?
