Mozy Home & Pro Major Updates: iOS and Android Apps

Mozy the people behind the leading online backup service is doing some major updates, and adding new features and improvements to its web access experience and Mozy restore functionality. If you are a Mozy Home and Mozy Pro customers you will gain easy and secure access their backed-up data from iOS, Android or internet-enabled devices, where ever you are.

Mozy will allow customers to access their files from anywhere and whenever you like, some of the main features in the upgrades will include: An Enhanced Web Access Experience via Mozy.co.uk, Users will be able to securely log in to www.mozy.co.uk from any device with web access to preview and download files. Users will be able to access their backed-up files directly from their mobile devices with support for photo previewing, file download and file sharing via mobile apps including, Android and iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch).

The update will also contain “Enhanced Restore Functionality”; this basically means users will be able to access more powerful searching, one-click download, 30-day-version viewing, and consolidated file transfer, for faster restores.

Recently Mozy launched the new beta trial of its synchronisation functionality, and this new feature should be released fairly soon. Protecting data is a must, especially nowadays and Mozy can provide this service for its customers and will continue to do a new job.

These new Mozy mobile apps for iOS and Android are totally free for MozyHome and MozyPro customers, if you are on the Android platform you can visit the Android Market right now, and iOS users can visit the iTunes App Store.

Android users will need to be running Android 2.0 or later and iOS users need version 4.0 and later. These mobile apps come in six different languages including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

Mozy Says: “The Mozy app currently supports customers using a Mozy managed encryption key. A subsequent update to the app will provide support for customers using personal-key encryption. The web access features and new restore experience will be available to UK customers later this quarter. The Mozy sync beta is currently open only to US MozyHome customers. Mozy hopes to add UK customers to the trial as the programme progresses.”
