AT&T LG Thrill 4G Unboxed and Handled On Video

For those in the US whose preferred carrier is AT&T and are hoping to pick up some glasses free 3D experience from the AT&T version of the LG Optimus 3D, known as the LG Thrill 4G, but are still sitting on the fence, we have an unboxing and hands-on video for your viewing consideration below that might enable you to make up your mind one way or the other.

The LG Thrill 4G unboxing and hands-on video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Slash Gear and delivers just over a four-minute look at the Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone that offers that 3D content experience.

The LG Thrill 4G features a dual core processor of the 1Ghz TI OMAP 4 variety and of course dual 5 megapixel cameras for capturing and playback of that glasses free 3D content and can also play 3D games.

According to the guys, LG is calling the LG Thrill 4G the first device on their “Tri-Dual” architecture, which apparently means the handset features dual channel, dual processor and dual memory.

The LG Thrill 4G also packs a 4.3-inch glassed free 3D touch screen along with a front facing camera, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS, DLNA, HDMi out, 3.5mm jack, comes with an 8GB SD card and expandable up to 32GB, runs Android 2.2 Froyo off the bat but will be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread at some point in the future.

Design wise the guys say the LG Thrill 4G is pretty sleek and the backing features the same aluminium strip found on recent LG devices along with what appears to be a carbon fibre inspired back cover that is actually soft touch plastic.

Apparently the LG Thrill 4G comes with several “3D inspired apps” preinstalled such as 3D games, 3D videos, 3D images, and even 3D YouTube, and apparently a dedicated 3D button.

So is the AT&T LG Thrill 4G the 3D experience smartphone for you? Well you know that is not up top me to say so I will leave it up to you to head on down and mash that play button to check out the LG Thrill 4G unboxing and hands-on footage so you can make that informed decision on whether the smartphone is for you, but feel free to drop us a comment and let us know if you intend snapping up the handset…enjoy.

Been a long wait. Seems to b excellent phone, even without 3D. Ran Quadrant & Smartbench
on it & my Moto Atrix, which is no slouch, Thrill is about 10% faster on both test. Also ran Linpack, Atrix 44MFLOPS, LG Thrill 69MFLOPS, so apparently multi-channel CPU & RAM really helps for more data thruput. Can carry 66% more date than just a normal Dual Core CPU & RAM unit. The Shack gets their delivery trucks n on wednesday for the weekend, so maybe pre-orders will b avail weds 31st !
