Sony Ericsson Gingerbread Live with Walkman Smartphone Unveiled

It appears that Sony Ericsson has a new Android smartphone offering in the form of a device they have decided to call the Live with Walkman smartphone, a device that the company unveiled today in London and claims the Android handset “delivers a unique social music experience.”

According to the guys over at the Boy Genius Report, the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman phone will run the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and sport a 1 GHz processor.

Other known specs of the smartphone include a 3.2-inch touch screen along with a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera, front facing VGA camera, 720p video recording, Bluetooth, Facebook Twitter, Google talk, Skype, Sony xLOUD audio and Walkman music player of course.

Nikolaus Scheurer, Head of Product Marketing, Sony Ericsson says, “Consumers want smartphones to deliver a rich and social entertainment experience. Rather than a one dimensional music experience, they want instant and seamless access to new content, combined with the ability to share and connect with their friends. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkmanâ„¢ provides exactly this, in a powerful package with great style.”

The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman also features an infinite button that when tapped when in the media player enables the user to immediately access new content on their favourite music and video artists including lyric search and artist information.

The Sony Live with Walkman handset measures 106 x 56.5 x 14.2mm and weighs in at 115 grams and will become available in both black and white in selected markets in Q4 of 2011 and naturally there’s no word on what the Android handset will hit your pocket for.
