Cannot get a low priced HP TouchPad tablet, well how about some alternatives instead then. Say hello to the LACS Magnum Pepper Tablet for only $99.

Now please do not shoot us if you do not think this an alternative, we are only piping up a few suggestions just in case you cannot buy the HP TouchPad on the cheap, just gives you a little room more movement.

The LACS Magnum Pepper Tablet is only $99 and features Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, 800MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, WiFi connectivity, USB 2.0 port, RJ45 LAN port, microSD card slot for up to 32 GB, 2GB of built-in storage, 3G dongle compatible, 7-inch resistive LCD touch screen and front facing camera.

It has resolution 800 x 480, MP3, AAC, WMA, AAC+ and various video formats like 3GP, AVI, MP4, H264 and 720P, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, and much more.

Lakshmi Access Communication Systems says that this tablet will be released in September this year, the specs are nothing special but for only $99 it is a good alternative to the hard to get HP TouchPad that was also selling for the same price.

We have searched high and low for low priced HP TouchPads, but online retailers have sold out all across the board.

Please do post your comments below, an Android tablet PC for under $100 is definitely worth a thought, if you are planning on getting the HP TouchPad please keep coming back because we will post updates if other online retailers sell them on the cheap, but it looks like they have all sold out. Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and even Target are all out of stock.

Ordered mine from Staples & Barnes & Noble to have it cancelled the next day.

I also stood in line at the best buy in fair oaks Mall in Fairfax Virginia Sunday Morning and was told they had 30 of them by a store employee to watch all the employees walk out with them in blue bags and with their uniforms on after an employee meeting and then the managers a male and female came out to tell us they were all gone because the employees were allowed to buy them.
I waited in line for 3 hours, and the male manager said that’s it sorry people, I was number 2 in line. The thing that ticked me off is that the employees got them during an employee meeting and made no attempt to hide them when they came out of the store, they were all smiling and laughing at us.
