Windows Phone Mango Update Nears Rollout

The Windows Phone faithful out there in mobile land who have been awaiting the arrival of the Windows Phone Mango update, it appears that your long wait for Mango is slowly coming to an end with a rollout of the Windows Phone Mango update expected in “a week or two.”

According to tan article over on The Guardian, the news of the nearing of the rollout of the Mango update comes by way of @BrandonWatson, who tweeted…

“Boom… no more rumours. Mango to start rolling out on Windows Phone in just a week or two,” and linked the tweet to the official Windows Phone Blog that states…” For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update–and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.”

The Windows Phone Mango update is said to bring quite a few improvement to the platform and also “significantly expands” the quantity of languages and locations where Windows Phone is available.

The rollout of the Mango update in a couple of weeks will also mean that Nokia will be able to offer their first Windows Phone smartphone starting next month, something Nokia hopes will return the smartphone maker back to their former glory in the Mobile arena.

On the official Windows Phone Blog, Eric Hautala in his post also cautions users against grabbing leaked and unofficial software as they can disrupt the handsets operation, and says, “During the official Windows Phone 7.5 update process, every Windows Phone will also receive software from the handset manufacturer. This matched and paired firmware has been painstakingly tuned so your phone — and apps — work with all the new features of Windows Phone 7.5. Since your phone requires the proper firmware to function as designed, my advice is simple: steer clear of bootleg updates and homebrew tools.”

So there you have it Windows Phone faithful you should expect the Mango update to begin hitting your device in the next couple of weeks if all goes to plan.
