If you are in the music business probably the guy to listen to is razor tongued music mogul and X Factor creator Simon Cowell, but one wouldn’t really expect Cowell to give comments about an Android smartphone, however it appears that Verizon thought Simon would be the ideal person to promote the Motorola Droid Bionic along with Cowell’s latest show on Fox, X Factor.

Thus Verizon Wireless has put out a TV commercial featuring the would be singers most feared mouth, Simon Cowell, and we have a video of that commercial for your viewing consideration below courtesy of the guys over at Android Community.

The ad is called Simon Cowell Throws Cell Phones, and lasts the usual allotted time for such a commercial where tight t-shirt wearing Simon does indeed throw cell phones over a balcony onto a beach with comments such as rubbish, junk, useless, embarrassing, and so on.

Except when he comes to the Motorola Droid Bionic of course, of which Simon says, “Now this is the complete opposite of rubbish. This is something I could get behind, absolutely fantastic.”

The commercial then cuts to a family including the pet dog picking up the discarded unnamed cell phones Simon has thrown away and on word from Simon they all drop the handsets, including the dog.
