same problem here… I downloaded iTunes 10.5 and my iphone 4 is connected to my laptop and my iTunes, but I don’t get a pop-up about iOS 5.

Does anybody know what to do next to install the iOS 5?

on itunes, click your ipod, and then check for an update by clicking the check for an update button.  if that doesnt work then i dont know what to do

  2. iOS 5 is not out yet. Quote From MacRumors: “iCloud is expected to launch today (Wed, October 12th) alongside iOS 5 and Mac OS X 10.7.2. Apple released iTunes 10.5 on Tuesday in preparation. We don’t expect iOS 5 to actually be released until later in the day. Apple has historically released their major iOS updates around 1pm eastern time.”

I am not able to download iTunes 10.5. The error is stating the feature you are trying is on a network source that is unavailable… Any suggestions?

This is a tedious and time consuming update. Got continual “network timed out” errors and had to start from scratch. I’m sure the grief will be well worth it.

win7 download itunes10.5 attempt – download stalled at 49.5 MB.  Spinning arrow for over 30 mins now.  Guess it’s not quite ready to update smoothly?  Fastest Latest board, no computer problems so must be the Apple server I guess.  Getting an ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ feeling here.

Tried 8 times to download iOS 5 to no avail.  Kept getting disconnected.  Then read on a site that you need to disable your virus protection.  I did that and the download is now in hour two.  Much further along that all previous attempts.  This needs some serious Apple attention.
