Unlock iOS 5 with UltraSn0w on iPhone 4S release day

The iPhone 4S will be alive and kicking down most doors tomorrow, people will be queuing for hours no doubt for their shiny new phone.

Tomorrow is also going to be big for all those that wish to unlock iPhone iOS 5, the reason we say this is because the new UltraSn0w unlock is releasing on the same day.

Thanks to iDB, they have reported that MuscleNerd confirms that the new iOS 5 compatibility update to the unlock tool, this will be releasing tomorrow after the planned MobileSubstrate update. MuscleNerd’s tweet said “Will coordinate ultrasn0w iOS5 compatibility update to come out *after* a planned MobileSubstrate update tomorrow”.

Please remember that the new UltraSn0w update will only work for 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00 basebands, if you have a different baseband to the ones mentioned here then you will not be able to use this new updated tool, got to wait for the exploit.

If you would like to use the new UltraSn0w for iOS 5, please download / install iOS 5 if you have not already while preserving the baseband, you can do this by using RedSn0w. Once you are on iOS 5 with a preserved baseband, visit Cydia and then install UltraSn0w.

      no its going to be for iPhone 4 and also for the iPhone 3gs and this doesn’t unlock anymore basebands its just being updated so it works in iOS 5 and that it doesn’t crash and these are the base bands it will work for, 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, and 06.15.00 basebands

    i have 3gs 6.15.00 bb and i want to upgrade to ios 5,i know that i can unlock it with the new ultrasnow but how do i jailbreak it if im going to use sn0wbreeze 2.8b8 ?will all the notification work?how about the activation?will iclouds work also?

    If you have a 3gs with the 6.15 bb you dont have to worry about it being updated,  go ahead and restore to stock firmware and then jailbreak using redsn0w, at least thats what i did and it worked fine, as of now i’m still waiting for the updated ultra snow to be released…..

      Mate we have to wait who have bb 4.11.08 there is there no any option to to downgrade BB 4.10.01 🙁 i have tried to downgrade but you know on 4.2.1 with bb 4.11.08  ios 5 you cant see signal bar on top but on ios 4.2.1 there you can call with gevey sim but you cant unlock 🙂

    Ok so i have a 3GS that was unlocked and on 6.15.00 BB. Then i upgraded to 4.3.5 via iTunes and lost my unlock. Then i upgraded to iOS 5 and jailbroken with redsn0w. I’m outside the US so there is no chance i can get an AT&T SIM. How will i be able to unlock it if i can not pass the “SIM Validation screen” ??? How am i supposed to get into Cydia? Is there any other way to get the ultrasn0w????

    I have to report that ios 5 on 3gs(old bootrom) with baseband 6.15.00 and ultrasn0w crashes wifi and sim. It’s not stable yet. I hope for an update of ultrasn0w.
