HP TouchPad CyanogenMod Alpha 2 update, CM7 changelog

CyanogenMod 7 aka CM7 have been on the case again, now they have just released the alpha 2 update for the HP TouchPad. It may still be an alpha so things to still go wrong, but at least it’s an update.

The HP TouchPad CyanogenMod Alpha 2 update brings many things, such as improvements and a few bug fixes to the table, the fixes that this update brings includes the plugging in of headphones, which now will now shut off the speaker volume, many users were experiencing battery drain, this has now been partially fixed.

Other things happening within the update include: More apps now available in market, At least one type of “sleep of death” (TP won’t wake up) has been fixed, Temporarily removed suspect fsck_msdos to fix random folder deletion on media/sdcard, Vibrator no longer disappears, and Wifi should no longer hang in sleep.

Android Police has the full changelog that includes: cifs support added, Touchscreen no longer unresponsive after sleep, Fixed broken links resulting from first version of installer (mount now works), Touchstone should now charge better, pptp vpn now works, Upstream cm7 changes added, Misc. fixes to ACME Installer (more graceful exits, nonstandard LVM media location handling, etc.) Also include now is that the OpenVPN TUN support added, USB mounting in vold added and Fixes to surfaceflinger to improve performance.

If you wish to remove alpha completely then just use ACME UnInstaller, this will remove CM7 and then bring back the space to the original media partition.

Please remember that alpha 2 is a rough build, you should only use if you are sure and know what you are doing, or if you are brutal and hard core.
