It is iPhone and Android world, to late for WP7

We will keep this short and sweet, but to the point. Is it iPhone and Android world nowadays? In this we mean, is it too late for the likes of BlackBerry and WP7 (Windows Phone 7).

We may be asking a question, but this is news related to try and get to the bottom of “Do we need any other platforms anymore”, this is a very hard one to answer but we are sure you will have your say on the matter.

BlackBerry was way ahead in its game, being one of the best and most favoured platforms, Nokia with its Symbian operation system was at the top as well, but since iOS and Android operating systems were released it has killed the limelight for older platforms and probably even future platforms like Windows Phone 7 OS.

We do not need to go into detail about iOS, Android, BlackBerry, WP7, Nokia etc; it is self-explanatory that iPhone and Android has kind of killed the path for others.

We have asked the same question on a few social networking sites and we are getting responses, one readers says “WP7 can at best be at No 3”, another reader writes “Far too late BlackBerry’s and windows mobile just cant compete especially with android cranking out phones left and right”, and just one more is a reader quoting “WP7 (.5) is great, but has an empty marketplace”.

Please do let us know what you think, is it iPhone and Android world nowadays, and is it too late for the likes of BlackBerry and WP7?

Agreed,  many who dislike WP7 have never used it.   I have one and love it.   The hardware will  catch up to the software,  Its only a matter of time.

I think you answered your own question…

iOS is/will quickly become the ‘older operating systems’ you mention, this is just a fact of life. It’s not a question of if, but when. Life is full of fads, iPhone is one, Android is another and WP will be another.

The iOS will continue to survive, but only with the people who equate Apple with ‘cool’, WP will gain traction as it is the ‘new thing’, Android will survive (despite it’s inherent problems) because it is free & makes the phones cheap.

WP will ultimately overtake iOS purely because there will be a choice of phone to suit all tastes, as with Android. The iPhone is the iPhone, if it doesn’t look the way you want, have the best screen, have the most MP on the camera, be the right colour, or whatever it is then people won’t buy it.

Ultimately the iPhone will have to overhaul its UI (it is looking a bit Windows 3.1 now) and provide a greater range of phones, otherwise it will become Symbian all over again.
