New iOS 5.0.1 update fixes iPhone 4S battery life

Apple has just released the new iOS 5.0.1 to developers only, that promises to fix iPhone especially iPhone 4S battery life problems. Many iPhone customers have been complaining about poor battery life since updating to iOS 5.

AllThingsD received an official statement from Apple confirming the issue, many iPhone 4S customers have reported (Including myself) have noticed the battery life draining very quickly indeed and Apple know about this problem, so much so that they have released the new iOS 5.0.1 software update to address it.

Developers should see the update now, not too sure when the public will see this software update but it will come soon. The new software contains certain fixes within to fix the battery life issue as well as other components including Siri Dictation and iCloud.

The 5.0.1 update will release to public, and when it does we will notify you. For now, just turn off iCloud and iMessage and this will not drain our battery as much.

Whilst we wait for public release, please do comment below of your battery life issues.

I am running iOS 5 on my 6 month old iPhone4, enjoying the upgraded features. I haven’t noticed any significant changes to my battery life, although to be fair I don’t use iCloud or iMessage. Is this only a problem for the 4S?
