Droid RAZR for 111.11 from Amazon

As everyone knows, today is rather a special day as the date reads 11.11.11, and if you are in the market to pick up the new Motorola Droid RAZR smartphone over in the good old US of A on Verizon, you can now get the Android smartphone for a very special price in commemoration of this special date.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Android and Me, potential owners can now snap up the Motorola Droid RAZR for just $111.11 by heading over to Amazon Wireless where that are offering the device at the commemorative price.

Obviously when purchasing the 4G LTE enabled Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread RAZR you will be required to sign up for the usual two-year agreement with the Big Red and that special $111.11 pricing will only apply to new contracts.

This means that if you already have an existing contract and are considering upgrading to the Motorola Droid RAZR, if you go via Amazon the device will cost in the region of $249.00 and not that $111.11.

Spec remained for the Droid RAZR just in case you have missed it, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced qHD Gorilla glass touch screen, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, HD front facing camera, 1080p video, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 4G LTE connectivity, 1GB RAM, 32GB memory made up of 16GB internal and 16GB preinstalled microSD card.

Of course you could simply bide your time and pick up the Samsung Galaxy Nexus that is due to release on Verizon anytime soon, so which smartphone would you prefer, the Droid RAZR or the Galaxy Nexus?
