Galaxy S II, Optimus 3D running Android 4.0: videos

If you are one of the Android minded you probably know that the Google guys released the Ice Cream Sandwich source code the other day, something that gives the hackers out there the opportunity to port Android 4.0 to other devices, and two such devices have now gained that Ice Cream Sandwich port, and we have video footage for your viewing pleasure below.

So now we have Android Ice Cream Sandwich ported to the Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 3D and the videos come our way courtesy of the guys over at Ubergizmo by way of Engadget and give us a look at Alpha versions of ICS running on both smartphones.

The Ice Cream Sandwich on the Samsung Galaxy S II and Optimus 3D footage shows that they have now managed to get the touch screen operational, however such things as WiFI, Bluetooth, and other gear still have to be sorted out and future releases will be coming soon apparently.

We do know however that the Samsung Galaxy S II will be receiving an official update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich as some point as Samsung has already confirmed this, but if you simply can’t wait for that official release and the port is completely ready before then, you could always try it out until the official version arrives.

Obviously now that the source code is available we will be seeing more Android devices popping up with ICS ports in the future, so for now I’ll leave it right there and let you head on down to hit those play buttons and check out the footage…enjoy.
