Okay, so no doubt most sometimes think about what the future holds tech wise, and want would future phones and computers look like, well how about a pizza box being used as a laptop or an everyday banana being your phone? Sounds strange but apparently is already being worked on, and you can find out about it by viewing the video we have for your viewing pleasure below.

The banana phone and pizza box laptop video comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Ubergizmo and by way of the Diginfonews YouTube page, and shows a concept called “Invoked Computing” from researchers for the Ishikawa-Oku lab in Tokyo.

In the video demo below you’ll see a pizza box being used to show a computer display apparently all by the user making a gesture a computer can project the screen, keyboard and everything to turn an ordinary pizza box into a laptop, and apparently using the same tech can allow a banana to be transformed into a phone.

Have to say it’s all very technical and you probably know how I am with technical jargon, but basically a high-speed camera tracks the banana whilst a parametric speaker array directs sound in a very narrow beam so it appears to be coming out of the banana.
