Android Sony Tablet P available for purchase in UK

If you are over here in the United Kingdom and in the market for an Android tablet this holiday season but don’t what the usual Samsung, Asus or LG slate you just might like to know that Sony’s newest tablet, the Sony Tablet P is now available to purchase in the UK, although the slate will make a bit of a dent in your pocket.

According to an article over on Slash Gear by way of Eurodroid, the Sony Tablet P is now available at Dixons and commands quite a hefty price tag at a penny short of 500 quid, which seems rather expensive to me.

The Sony Tablet P is the hinged version of Sony’s tablet offering that folds in half for portability and unfolds to reveal two 5.5-inch touch screens a bit like the old Kyocera Echo smartphone, and was formally known as the Sony S2.

Other specs with the Sony Tablet P include 1GB of RAM, 4GB storage, a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, 5 megapixel rear facing camera along with a front facing VGA camera, runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is also PlayStation certified for gaming.

Obviously no word on whether the Sony Tablet P will see an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich at this point but no doubt that will come at some point in the future.

So there you have it, if you are in the UK you can now purchase the Android slate, as long as you have half a grand to part with, so will any of our UK readers be picking up the Sony Tablet P?
