Galaxy Nexus LTE Verizon price outed by ad

If you are patiently waiting to get your eager mitts on the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone to play nice on the Verizon Network, which has been rumoured to become available from the Big Red as of the 8th of December, you thus far haven’t been notified just how much the smartphone will set you back, however that has now been rectified.

According to an article over on Slash Gear by way of the Engadget guys, there is a flash advert running that opens to reveal the image above and shows that the 4G LTE toting Samsung Nexus will hit your pocket for $199.99 when signing on for the usual two-year term.

Apparently slapping that 200-buck price tag on the Android 4.0 toting Samsung Galaxy Nexus put the handset at the same price as the iPhone, so maybe we’ll quickly be seeing a smartphone battle in the run up to Christmas.

Just in case you have forgotten, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Contour Display touch screen, 5 megapixel rear facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1080p video, 1.2Ghz dual core processor and of course 4G LTE connectivity and Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

Of course one can only presume that this flash advert for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE is the real deal even though the Big Red hasn’t confirmed any pricing or availability date as yet, so for now this should be treated as rumour until we have that confirmation.
