LG Nitro HD release date & specs, AT&T official

Not too long ago we reported on the LG Nitro HD smartphone, which is also know as the LG Optimus LTE, coming to the AT&T network over the pond, and now AT&T has gone all official with the LG Nitro HD and announced when they expect to release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone to the public.

According to the guys over at Engadget, AT&T has announced that the LG Nitro will come out to play on the AT&T 4G LTE network as of the 4th of December and should be available in stores and online to purchase at a price of $249.99 when signing on for the usual two-year commitment.

Spec wise the LG Nitro HD offers the user a 4.5-inch 720p HD IPS touch screen along with an 8 megapixel rear facing HD camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 dual core processor, 4G LTE and HSPA+, WiFi Direct Technology and DNLA, 4GB on-board memory, and 16GB microSD card in the box making a total of 20GB, and Android 2.3 of course.

As the LG Nitro HD is a new Android Gingerbread smartphone then one can expect the device to see an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich at some point in the future, although as far as I am aware LG hasn’t yet stated if or when they will.

So there you have it, if you are interested in snapping up the LG Nitro HD the device is exclusive to AT&T and you should be able to pick it up as of the 4th of next month, does the LG Nitro HD capture your interest?

I’ve been trying to hold out for the new quad core phones that will be coming out in Apr-May…but I’ve already gone quite awhile (for me..9mos!) Without buying a new phone. Size/screen resolution/memory plus an actual sd card.slot..(do you hear me NOW Verizon-Samsung Nexus!?). Was really tempted by the Rezound on big red…but I can live without Beats by Dre ..now the next hurdle..how much off contract?
