HTC Rezound experiencing sound problems

The HTC Rezound touts the use of Beats Audio and in fact comes with Beats Audio headphones supplied with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset, so when it comes to sound you’d think it would bbe pretty good; however it appears that numerous complaints are arising that the HTC Rezound is experiencing sound issues when using the headphones.

According to an article over on Ubergizmo by way of Droid-life, some of their readers along with numerous posts to the Android community, the new Android Rezound is experiencing a static or interference and not just when using the Beats Audio headphones but any headphones.

Thus the sound problem doesn’t appear to be related to those Beats Audio headphones, as apparently the problem can be replicated when streaming or whilst listening to music stored internally.

Apparently some have suggest that the issue lies with 4G with some type of interference staring when activating 4G LTE whilst some can replicate the sound problem no matter what connection they are using.

So as we hear at Phones Review are a nosy bunch we’d like to hear from any of our readers that own the HTC Rezound, so feel free to let us know if you are experiencing these sound issues with your Rezound by shouting out to our comments area below.

Maybe it is because I have partial hearing loss, but I have not heard anything staticky at all. Neither has my musician son-in-law, who had nothing but praise for the sound quality–and he is a complete Apple Junky.

I have noticed this static interference and it is extremely annoying.  Does not mater what headphones you are using or appear to have anything to do with the radio – happens with 3G and 4G both.  I also hear it when I have my phone patched into my car sound system.

  3. so far no static at all.. pandora sounds great over 4g with no buffering! netflix also sounds great.  Of course depending on the original recording of the particular source matters with volume and eq rate, but glad to have no problems.

had the incredible 1 and really really liked it, this phone just stole my admiration from ms incredible.  HTC rocked it.

I am also experiencing the interference, under all circumstances, regardless of headset used, networks enabled/disabled, etc.  Got my phone at Best Buy 5 days ago – will try one exchange to see if another Rezound is problem-free.  if it is still a problem, I will NOTwait to see if a fix comes out – my husband and daughter have had extremely problematic Bionics since they were first released, and no fixes have come out for them, so I’m not going to play that waiting game…….instead, I’ll try the Droid RAZR. And Verizon had better not count any of this time towards my 14 day exchange period!

I am just curious. I am also noticing some static interference on my phone when I play music. I can’t really hear it while the music is on. I only hear the static when there’s a pause between the silent period of going to the next song. Is this the issue you guys are talking about or you guys meant something worse when we’re talking about the static noise? Should I go in for the warranty trade?

  6. I get it, when I’m playing any audio or video, if I mute the actual sound, I can hear the static through the headphones still, regardless of LTE. Even when the songs get quiet you can hear it pretty pronounced, this may be a dealbreaker, as I listen to a lot of music via headphones, and I have yet to find a bluetooth pair that comes close to a decent set of wired inner ear buds. Happens with both my “Beats” and a set of Klipsch s4’s that I’ve had.

Just found this thread, Rezounder for past 3 days and sad to say, I am afflicted by this too.  Maddening that this ‘great’ audio phone may well be the worst stinker out there, even worse than my Coby POS player.

I believe HTC has a quality control issue.  I have the Rezound and do not experience any of the audio issues commented on this thread.  Makes me believe something went wrong in the manufacturing process with some phones, much like U.S. automakers in the 80’s and 90’s.

Yes it is most definitely an issue. A very obnoxious one too. Anytime your music playing softly all you can here is a static hissing noise. Htc really needs to step up to the plate on this one.

I’m having this problem and it is exclusively with the 4g radio lit up, disable LTE and it’s gone.  Also, it seems to be a problem with poorly shielded cables.  I don’t have the problem with my Sennheiser HD-280 studio headphones, but my Sennheiser earbuds and my car adapter all suffer greatly from the problem.
