Xbox Companion Windows Phone 7 app release date

There’s a new application heading for the Windows Phone 7 platform that will deliver the ability to control content and discover more about the popular Xbox Live and that app is called the Xbox Companion app for Windows Phone.

According to an article over on Engadget by way of Major Nelson, the Xbox Companion app allows the user to search the Xbox catalogue of games movies and the lick all right from their Windows Phone handset whiles receiving second-screen info on friend’s activity, what the console is playing or even act as a remote control.

With Xbox Companion for Windows Phone devices the user will also be able to selects a search result and launch a movie, game, T show or app on a connected console along with being able to play, pause, rewind, fast forward the music or video and initiate media purchases and navigate the console via your handset.

The Xbox Companion app for Windows Phone devices isn’t available to download quite yet, however the application will become available as of tomorrow, Tuesday the 6th of December and will be a free app for Windows Phone users.
