There’s a new Android flagship smartphone coming from the Meizu camp in China next year, and now Meizu has officially unveiled their Meizu MX smartphone and has delivered all the official specifications on the smartphone along with a release date for mainland China and expected pricing on the handset.
According to the guys over at Engadget, the Meizu MX will come out to play in China packing a 1.4 Ghz Samsung Exynos dual core processor, 4-inch AVS display, 8 megpixel rear facing camera, 0.3 megapixel front facing camera, 1080p video recording, secondary mic for noise cancellation, 1GB LPDDR2 RAM, and 16GB storage, although 32GB model will apparently come at a later date.
Other specs include a physical home button rather than the rumoured optical trackpad, pentaband 3G and HSPA+, Micro SIM, FLAC audio, microUSB support, MHL, and will run a customised version of Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread at outset, but will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich at some point, and all rolled into a 10.3mm thick housing.
As for the release date for the Meizu MX, apparently the device will become available in mainland China as of the 1st of January 2012 and Hong Kong is still expecting a January release as well although not hard date was given. Price wise the Meizu MX is expected to hit the pocket for some ¥2,999, which is roughly $470.
