Galaxy Nexus for Verizon offered on eBay at hefty price

If you are over in the good old US of A and patiently waiting for the Big Red to get their finger out and release that Samsung Galaxy Nexus but are becoming somewhat tired of waiting, and if you don’t mind shelling out a large bundle of bucks to own the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone you might like to hit up eBay.

According to the guys over at Phone Arena there is a Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus up on offer on eBay that could land you the 32GB Android 4.0 smartphone somewhere between the 13th and 15th of this month.

You may be aware that the word doing the rounds is that the Big Red is holding off releasing the Galaxy Nexus in the States due to a disagreement over whether Google Wallet should remain on the handset, as Verizon want it removed, as we reported earlier.

However if you simply must have the Samsung Galaxy Nexus playing nice on the Verizon network before Christmas then you can buy it now on eBay at a rather hefty cost of $1200 plus $30 shipping.

Apparently the eBay seller claims that the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is brand new, unused and unopened and in its original packaging, and the seller note in capitals below the specs that Verizon is holding off the release of this phone until mid-Jan — Feb next year.

The seller also says they will include a receipt so there will be no warranty problems, and the device is ready to be activated as they have tested it with their SIM card, so if they have tested their SIM card doesn’t that mean the device has been opened and used?

You also made a typo. dork! I, as of, about 2 hours ago, I own a Samsung Nexus S., and have yet to see any problems. So…. whats the deal? You should speak on knowledge. and not stupidity!

all of a sudden the Verizon galaxy nexus is a world phone that the FCC has never seen?  Good luck to the guy that bought it. Hope it actually is the Verizon version.

It is stuff like this that is turning away poitential new Android customers. They see how screwed up the launch of the “newest and latest phone & OS version” is and turn away. AVerizon and Google need to come out and say waht the heck is going on. My not saying anything it just makes them look like bumbling fools. I have not wanted this phone, I am waiting for the Droid4. Another bumbled launch….

Will this phone be outdated by the time Verizon starts selling them. Ok, not out dated but no longer the latest and best around. And why not leave Google wallet on there and let the buyer decide what they want to use, & not Verizon.

I have Verizon apps on my Thunderbolt that I have never used, never will and would love to delete. (But we know how that goes)
