O2 Digital Santa Grotto: Send a video message via Twitter this Christmas

Christmas will soon be upon us and O2 UK has apparently built a Digital Santa Grotto that will allow every user of Twitter to send a festive message to their loved ones and friends this Christmas as of today the 12th of December right up until Thursday the 15th of the month.

So how does the 02 Digital Santa Grotto work? Well apparently Twitter users just need to tweet their message to @O2 using the hashtag #o2santa and O2 will collect tweeted messages and get their Santa to read them out in a “personal video missive” that is posted to the dedicate O2Santa YouTube channel.

Apparently O2 UK has hired the red suited festive guy to record the messages from his secret grotto in the North Pole, and we have one of the O2 Digital Santa Grottyo video messages embedded below so you can see for yourself just how it comes out.

For example if you tweet a message such as “Hello Olive, mummy and daddy send you lots of Christmas love and I look forward to seeing you on the 24th … Ho ho ho … @o2 #o2santa” then the jolly white bearded man himself will relay that message via video on the dedicated channel for the receiver to pick up an watch.

Seems like a nice way to get your Christmas message across to all your friends that may be living abroad rather than opting to send the usual digital Christmas card, and should put a smile on your friends and families faces don’t you agree?
