Droid 4 possible release date tomorrow

No doubt many of the Android faithful over in the good old US of A are still patiently waiting to get their mitts on the next Droid smartphone out of the Motorola camp to hit the Big Red Network, namely the Motorola Droid 4, and it looks like that rumoured 22nd of December release date is still a possibility.

According to the guys over at Ubergizmo the guys over at Droid-life have got their hands on an internal document that actually shows the Motorola Droid 4 as having that December 22nd release schedule, which of course is tomorrow (image below).

Having said that, Verizon hasn’t even got around to officially announcing the Android 4G LTE smartphone, but then as it seems the Big Red likes cutting things to the bone when it comes to official announcements they could do the business later today.

Known specs for the Motorola Droid 4 are of course a 4-inch qHD touch screen, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear facing camera, front facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity, memory card slot, 1785mAh battery, and a slide out 5-row QWERTY keyboard.

Of course with no confirmation from Verizon the Motorola Droid 4 may not make an appearance tomorrow, but if the Big Red wants to get it out before Christmas there isn’t a great deal of time left.

Are you looking forward to picking up the Motorola Droid 4 if it surfaces for purchase tomorrow, or will you hold out for the smartphone even if it means waiting until after Christmas?

I just returned home from my local VZW store, and of course, they know nothing about a Droid 4.  I’ve been waiting for weeks to retire my G*d-forsaken LG Ally, and Big Red chooses to drag their feet on this one…

    Thanks!

  2. I’m hoping in about 30 mins there is some news. The GNex has messed up antenna issues and I don’t trust it now. I’ve been thinking about the RAZR but with the RAZRMAX coming out soon it’s tough.

I will indefinitely miss my OGDroids keyboard as I like to game with the keyboard and hate on screen controls. I will without a doubt Christmas gift myself the D4 if it comes out tonight!

  3. With the dummy unit, TechnoBuffalo noticed that
the device has a soft-touch plastic surface. The keyboard on the DROID 4
is larger than the one on its predecessors and was found to be a lot
more comfortable. As for the rest of the design, we already knew that
the DROID 4 had a slightly thick RAZR look to it.

  4. It’s basically a Droid Razr
with a keyboard and smaller display, but that’s nothing to
underestimate. Smartphone shoppers wondering how it stacks up next to
the Razr and the Galaxy Nexus will want to read on. A few key specs of the Droid 4 haven’t been officially announced yet.
These include price (will it be $200 or $300?), release date (we only
know that it will launch within “the next few weeks”), and the precise
    physical dimensions.
