Nokia Lumia 800 battery problems, fix coming 2012

If you are an owner of the Nokia Lumia 800 and have been experiencing battery problems in the form of poor life, it appears that it isn’t the Lumia 800 battery that’s at fault but rather a software issue on certain variants. And you might like to know that Nokia is aware of the issue and is on the case to come up with a fix.

As such, according to the guys over at the Boy Genius Report, by way of the Nokia support forums, Nokia intends on delivering a fix for the Windows Phone battery issue sometime early in 2012, although they didn’t give an actually date.

However if you do own the Nokia Lumia 800 and are experiencing the battery issue but do not wish to hang on for that fix to arrive can get in contact with Nokia and they will replace your smartphone.

If you are unsure whether your Lumia 800 is affected by the battery problem, you can find out by running the battery status test from the diagnostics tool already installed on the handset. Just dial ##634# to open the tool, accept the disclaimer and then select ‘Battery Status’ from the options list.

Once you have used the diagnostic tool, if your full charge reads under 1000mAh then your Nokia Lumia 800 is one of the affected handsets.

So we’d like to ask any of our readers that own a Nokia Lumia 800 if you have done this test and have found your device is affected, and will you hold on for that fix or get your device replaced?
