LG Optimus 2 announced: back to basics

Well not everyone in the mobile space requires a high-end power packing smartphone and I’m sure there are some people still out there that would rather opt for a budget handset, and if you do it would appear that LG has your budget Android handset needs covered as they have now announced the LG Optimus 2.

According to the guys over at Technobuffalo by way of Tech Radar, the LG Optimus 2 is a device that takes things back to basics, and LG is expected to debut the LG Optimus 2 during CES 2012next week.

Spec wise the LG Optimus 2 is said to sport a 3.2-inch capacitive touch screen along with a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera, 179MB internal memory, microSD expansion, 2BG microSD card preinstalled, and runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The LG Optimus 2 also features a 1500mAh battery that is said to deliver up to five hours of talk time, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, and Swype.

As for just when those that would like to own a budget back to basics Android handset there’s no word on when the device will see release in the United Kingdom but apparently the LG Optimus 2 is already available over the pond in the US.

Other than that there’s no more details on the LG Optimus 2 but we’ll keep you informed as and when we hear, does the LG Optimus 2 should like the Android phone for you?
