iPad 2 thinner rival, Toshiba Excite x10 specs

Are you thinking of purchasing a new tablet device, but are opting for something else other than an iPad 2? We may have the answer for you today, in the shape of the new Toshiba Excite x10.

Running with Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 OS packed with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, the new x10 is reported to be the thinnest tablet on the market, beating off competition from Apple’s extremely popular iPad 2.

If you follow the tech news on a regular basis, you may remember in 2011 that a Toshiba tablet was announced as coming but by the name of the Regza AT700. As reported by zdnet.com, the new 10-inch displayed Toshiba Excite actually weighs in at 66 grams less than its competitor the iPad 2.

Other features to speak of include a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing. Release of the new Toshiba Excite x10 tablet is expected early part of this year with a 16GB model retailing for $529 and a bigger 32GB at $599.

Give us your thoughts on the new Toshiba Excite x10? Are you excited (excuse the pun) or just completely put off by both fairly high prices?
