Nokia Lumia 900 Pentile display MIA

Well now it would appear that old Nokia has got into a confessing mood when it comes to their latest Windows Phone the Nokia Lumia 900, also known as the Nokia Ace, in as much as they have decided to fess up and confirm the smartphone will lack a Pentile display.

According to the guys over at The Verge, Nokia made their Lumia 900 display confession via their official US Twitter account by simple tweeting in answer to the question “@NokiaUS is the Lumia 900’s display PenTile? No one has been able to get a straight answer so far,” the Nokia response was short and to the point…”@mobile_ed No, the display isn’t Pentile.”

Thus unlike the Nokia Lumia 800, its AMOLED display has its subpixels in an RGB arrangement rather than RGBG, which apparent delivers a better fine grain detail on the Nokia Lumia 900 and thus avoiding subtle colour-fringing which the Nokia Lumia 800 demonstrates on high contrast edges.

Apparently old Nokia has been a tad evasive on the subject of the Nokia Lumia 900 and the Pentile display up until their Twitter confession, something the guys suggest was in an effort not to diminish their other AMOLED displays.

So there you have it, if you were indeed expecting Nokia’s next Windows Phone to come out to play packing a Pentile display, you now know this isn’t the case, will that little confession put you off the Lumia 900?
