Polaroid SC1630 runs Android: camera or smartphone?

A year ago this week at the CES event in Las Vegas, amongst many new innovations, was that of the new Polaroid range including that of the Lady Gaga GL20 glasses. This year with just a day to go until the finish of the event, we have something else to tickle your taste buds! Bring on the new Polaroid SC1630 smart camera running on Android that’s just been seen in the flesh.

The new Polaroid device almost acts as a camera come smartphone, with a packed list of specs including, 3.2-inch touchscreen display, 16MP HD camera with built-in 3x optical zoom, WiFi plus 3G connectivity, Smart Album enabling the Polaroid to sort through photos via grouping, 18 modes to choose from taking pictures in different scenes with the addition of a microSD 32GB card.

As Ubergizmo.com pointed out, the new SC1630 will no doubt tempt many, with its appearance of a digital camera with smartphone benefits, this therefore, puts the SC1630 in a league of its own.

In terms of pricing, the new Android device is destined to go on sale in April for a price of $299 in the US with others to follow.
