GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.2 update fix
Well now for those of you out there that own a GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus, by now you should be seeing an update to your handset as Google has started rolling out the Android 4.0.2 update for the GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus only so isn’t for the Verizon version of the device.
According to the guys over at Android Community, the Android 4.0.2 update weighs in at just 8.8MB and is apparently described as delivering “important bug fixes,” so nothing the get too excited about.
Apparently though just what those bug fixes are in the Android 4.0.2 update hasn’t been stated, but the guys say that the update came over the air and popped up in their notifications bar and if you haven’t received notification of the update yet you should check via the settings menu.
Although this update bumps the GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus up to v4.0.2 the device still lags behind its Verizon counterpart, which is currently sitting at Android 4.0.3.
It is assumed that v4.0.2 will fix some of the minor problems GSM Galaxy Nexus users have been experiencing such as incoming calls falling silent on answering, and the occasional restart issues some have been seeing.

Google have take away the screen rotation animation. It just flicks between tjem now again like normal pre-ice cream sandwich. Horrible
You have to change your window animation or the other setting in developer options

Nice update… not. I can’t force the update to install at my settings menu, and it doesn’t pop up by it self.
i am having a problem to receiving file from bluetooth it can be send but i am unable to receive most of the files i have a seen this problem in my 2 devides(galaxy nexus) so let me know what i have to do??

Upgraded my Galaxy Nexus to 4.0.2 two nights ago. Â Sorry to say battery life has now deteriorated by 4 to 6 hours. Â Battery usage stats used to be dominated by the screen. Â Now the OS is far and away the biggest consumer. Â Haven’t noticed any other differences so on balance I’d say it’s pretty poor. Â Does anyone know how to revert to a previous version?
Rebooted the phone today and all the battery life problems went away. Â Now at least as good as before the upgrade.

i have brand new GN (probably old – sitting in box in store). it finally updated to 4.0.2. I’ve called it at least 100 times, no exaggeration. i would say 50% of the time it would ring.. other times it went straight to VM – or rang on the phone i was calling from, but GN wouldn’t. appears to have a problem switching from 3G to 4G or 4G to 3G – seems like those are the times it doesn’t ring. usually the GN has one or two bars, on either 3g or 4g – I’m in Mich, coverage is great. other phones we have – have 3 or 4 3g bars all the time. I’m still within my 14 day return time – liking this phone a lot – hate to take it back.
P.S. Verizon tech support = WORTHLESS
Just updated to 4.0.2 I never experienced any of the issues mentioned in the article, however since the update any time I Â go to grab an app the market crashes. Â 🙁 Hopefully 4.0.3 fixes this???
Since i updated i cannot download any apps from the market. Error message reads “unfortunately, market has stopped” and shuts the market down completely. Also the NFC android beam option has disappeared in the settings menu. Tried to beam with my girlfriends galaxy nexus and couldnt. Hers is still on 4.0.1 and with mine on 4.0.2 i dont even have the android beam option anymore?

i cannot received incoming calls but out going calls not a problem . can anyone help with this problem?
i got this Samsung Nexus google 4.0 android phone from Jan 2012. i just got another battery faulty signal problem again. the last occured in May when the phone was only 4 months old. the Battery charging signal comes on & off itself. it doesn’t matter if u plug in charging or not.
