KDDI: Samsung Galaxy S II WiMAX (ISW11SC) for Japan

I’m pretty sure that most are aware that the Sprint version of the highly popular Samsung Galaxy S II, the Samsung Epic 4G Touch plays nice on Sprint’s WiMax network, and whilst there seems to be an abundance of GSM flavour Samsung Galaxy S II devices, a WiMAX model is kind of rare, although another one is soon to come out to play.

According to the guys over at Phone Arena by way of Sammy Hub, Japanese carrier KDDI is to deliver a WiMAX version of the Samsung Galaxy S II for Japan, although the guys say the handset has more in common with the Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE.

According to the guys the Android smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy S II WiMAX (ISW11SC) and sports a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD touch screen along with an 8 megapixel auto-focus rear facing camera, a 2 megapixel front facing camera, 1080p video, 16GB internal storage, 1.4GHz dual core processor, GPS, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, microSD expansion.

The Samsung Galaxy S II WiMAX (ISW11SC) runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and weighs 139 grams and will be offered in Japan by KDDI au as of the 20th of January but no work on any pricing at the moment.
