Samsung Galaxy Journal aka Note for Verizon

If you are over in the good ole US of A and have your eye on picking up the smartphone come mini tablet known as the Samsung Galaxy Note but would rather not have to go with AT&T, the word is both Verizon and Sprint will definitely be offering the Galaxy Note although possibly carrying a different moniker.

According to the guys over at Droid-life by way of the Examiner, analyst Paul Mueller spoke to the Examiner on the matter of the Galaxy Note, Verizon and Sprint, and said that the Android handset will certainly come to both carriers sometime in the first half of the year but could possibly be known as the Samsung Galaxy Journal.

The Droid-life guys do point out that old Sammy doesn’t currently have a CDMA/LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note available anywhere as yet whilst the HSPA+/LTE version is available globally and AT&T will offer the device reasonably soon.

For those that are anticipating picking up the Galaxy Note, the device offers, a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED touch screen along with 1.5GHz dual core processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 16GB memory expandable up to 32GB, and S-Pen stylus.

Not sure just why individual carriers feel the need to muck around with a device’s name, but Journal or Note it will be the same device. So are you waiting to get your hands on the Galaxy Note, would you prefer Verizon or Sprint over AT&T and do you prefer the device to be called the Note or Journal?

I wanna stay with Verizon (best service, best customer service), I have UNLIMITED data for $30/mo. and would like to keep it that way! But if they do NOT bring some form of the Note/Journal to us customers, I’m jumping ship. I need and want that phone!

I’m with Verizon and my upgrade date is march 20th, and I am really intrigued by this phone.  If it has a release date not too much past march 20th, I think I’ll be willing to wait for it 🙂
