LG X3 ICS quad-core Tegra 3 beauty

As we move forward into 2012 it is becoming quite clear that this year is the year of the quad core device, with several quad core devices already being outed for launch this year and now a new quad core smartphone has been pictured in the form of the LG X3, which will tout that NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor sometime in the first half of the year.

The guys over at Pocket Now have managed to come up with an image of the LG X3 smartphone, whose specs include a 4.7-inch touch screen with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera along with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 16GB internal storage and microSD expansion.

Word has it the LG X3 will be an Android Ice Cream Sandwich handset out of the box and all wrapped up in a below 9mm housing, and will utilise physical capacitive buttons rather than touch screen buttons.

Other specs for the Android 4.0 handset include 21 Mbps HSPA, with possible bumps to regional LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, and according to an unnamed “trusted source” the LG X3 will also come out to play sporting NFC functionality, and the handset will pack a 2000mAh battery.

Word is going round that the LG X3 smartphone could possibly make its debut during Mobile World Congress 2012 in February, and apparently the device could hit retail sometime in spring or late summer.
