iPhone 5 different design to 4S, nearing production
So more news on the next generation iPhone today, as we know many were disappointed that Apple delivered the iPhone 4S which retained the same design as the iPhone 4 and it is expected that the iPhone 5 will come out to play sporting a new design, although what that new design will be remains to be seen.
However, according to the guys over at 9to5 Mac, they have got word from an unnamed “reliable source” at Foxconn, the iPhone 5 as it is currently referred to is nearing production.
Apparently there are several variations on the iPhone 5 out there already according to the source, and it is quite impossible to tell which device Apple will finally go for, but each iPhone does have a few things in common.
Those common things are a 4-inch touch screen, so larger than the iPhone 4S, mo teardrop design as all are symmetrical in thickness along with being wider and longer, none have an iPhone 4/4S form factor, and none are final versions.
However, the guys suggest that what is important here is that when Apple geared up for production of the iPhone 4S it was in late spring, and if we follow patterns with a 5-month lead time, it would look like Apple is preparing for launch in summer/WWDC pattern that was the norm up until last year.
Apparently the reliable source was also the guy who said Apple wasn’t going to deliver the iPhone 5 last year and that it would indeed be the iPhone 4S, so he does have a reliable track record it would seem.
So there you have it, if true we could see the new design iPhone 5 in summer but what design that would be is still being kept under wraps by Apple as expected.
