Absinthe jailbreak 0.4 update brings added consistency

Under: Apple iPhone, Phone Software
Date: February 2nd, 2012

Quick News: The Absinthe jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad (A5 devices) was released not so long ago for Windows and Mac users, more good news this morning because there is a little update for all to download.

If you own an A5 device that has been jailbroken you may want to check out the new Absinthe jailbreak version 0.4 update, which comes with more features.

Absinthe 0.4 update offers added support for Mac OSX 10.5, Intel CPU and PPC, it also brings added consistency check on start-up to make sure required files are in place, as well as a fixed bug in payload generator that might cause a crash.

You do not need to run Absinthe to jailbreak your iPad 2 or iPhone 4S if you have already used it, if you have not then visit iDB for all the tutorials you need. Please do let us know if you have tried out the new update, we would love to know how you got on, thanks.

I jailbroke my ipad 2 with Absinthe .04 but now I can’t seem to figure out how to restore my backup from icloud and keep Cydia installed….. what steps would I take to do this?

I just used Absinthe on my iPhone 4s with mixed results. The application worked as expected and it injected a payload with the absinthe icon to my phone. However, that is when all things go to hell in a hand basket. Starting the absinthe icon, fails every single time regardless of using the VPN option or not. Cannot contact absinthe servers or something. My phone is not a brick at this point but it is not jail broken either.
