Verizon Motorola Droid 4 release within 7 days

The latest Droid smartphone to arrive on the Verizon network is of course the Motorola Droid 4, and thus far the Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone hasn’t received an official release date from the Big Red and was originally expected to surface back in December but failed to do so; however it appears that a release date for the Motorola Droid 4 has finally been revealed.

According to the guys over at Droid-life, their ‘unnamed’ sources are saying that old Verizon has set the release date for the Motorola Droid 4 as the 9th of February, so if true hopefully we will see the smartphone come out to play within seven days.

Apparently the word was the Big Red was due to deliver the Android smartphone on the 2nd of Feb, but as that is today, unless Verizon shocks everyone and releases it today or tomorrow you can expect the handset to become available next week.

Spec reminder for the Motorola Droid 4, a 4-inch qHD scratch resistant touch screen, 1.2 GHZ dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p video capture, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard memory, microSD expansion, five-row slide out QWERTY keyboard, and 4G LTE connectivity.

Price wise the Droid 4 is expected to command a price tag of 199-bucks based on signing your life away on a two-year Verizon agreement, although that has yet to be confirmed.

So there you have it the long wait for the Motorola Droid 4 looks to be finally coming to an end, so will you be knocking on Verizon’s door come Thursday to pick up the smartphone?
