Motorola’s striking Droid RAZR, RAZR Maxx & Droid 4

Over the last year its fair to say that Apple and Samsung have taken a massive chunk of the smartphone and tablet market, but as we ventured towards the end of 2011, it became clear that Motorola would be bringing out some pretty impressive handsets, that of the Droid RAZR/RAZR Maxx and the forthcoming Droid 4.

Before we look at a brief rundown of each of their specs, we can tell you courtesy of androidcommunity.com, that the Droid 4 is now expected to fall around the 10th of this month with its price rumored to be in the region of $199.99 on a Verizon contract or $549.99 as a stand-alone price.

In terms of the three smartphones, the Droid RAZR packs a 4.3-inch qHD Super Amoled Advanced screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, 16GB internal storage and 8MP camera with HD front facing camera.

Although specs for the RAZR Maxx are near enough identical to the RAZR, the Maxx is reported to benefit from a battery giving in the region of ’21 hours’ of juice life. In order to show this off, watch out for Motorola’s live streamed event on the 6th February in which they will demonstrate the phone’s battery. The event as we reported is to last 24 hours with the handset being left on for the entire period.

Lastly if we take a look at the next high-ended smartphone the Droid 4, packing a 4-inch qHD touchscreen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 16GB internal memory, 8MP rear camera, five row slide out Qwerty keyboard along with Verizon’s 4G LTE support.

Tell us which one takes your fancy? Any of the three above?

I have a Droid 1 (original Droid) with slide out keyboard and never use the slide out keyboard.  I would rather see a less costly Droid without the slideout keyboard and a long life battery option like the Bionic.

That would be a Razr Maxx. It goes for $299 (2yr).
If you’re going the less costly route, opt for the 16GB Razr for $199 (2yr).

I don’t see why anyone would buy a Droid if he or she didn’t prefer a tactile keyboard.
