Galaxy S3 beats SGS2 on slimness

As we have already learnt the next generation Galaxy S smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S3 will not be making its debut during Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona later this month, but there have been recent rumours that the Galaxy S3 will release either April or May, and now we have more on what the Galaxy S3 will be like.

According to the guys over at Slash Gear by way of ETNews, as we know the Samsung Galaxy S2 is 8.9mm in thickness and obviously old Sammy ways the third generation device to be slimmer so the word is the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be just 7mm thick according to industry sources.

Apparently back in March 2011old Sammy decided the quad core Android Ice Cream Sandwich Galaxy S2 follow up had to be thinner and thus set about using 10 to 20% thinner components along with a shaved down PCB.

Although the word is the 8 megapixel rear facing snapper will produce a hump on the back of the smartphone, and there is a promise of a 2 megapixel front facing camera for your video needs, which will apparently support HDMI playback and LTE connectivity has also been suggested.

The guys do say they would expect the Samsung Galaxy S3 to also sport WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, HSPA+ and more although at the moment Samsung isn’t forthcoming with any concrete specifications for the device.

Of course much like any specs with the iPhone 5, specs with the Samsung Galaxy S3 haven’t actually been confirmed so for now remain in the land of rumour.
