LG Optimus Vu phone, NFC, 5-inch & 1.5GHz Qualcomm

Well now if you are a fan of LG Optimus smartphones it appears that LG has a new Optimus offering on the cards in the form of the LG Optimus Vu phone, an Android smartphone that according to LG is more comfortable to hold than “traditional portrait solutions,” and we have a few spec on the device along with a teaser video for your viewing consideration below.

According to the guys over at Engadget, by way of LG, the LG Optimus Vu sports a 5-inch touch screen, a 4:3 aspect ratio, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, NFC functionality, Bluetooth, WiFi, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz processor and an 8 megapixel camera.

Apparently the LG Optimus Vu is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS smartphone but no doubt will see an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich at some point in the future hopefully. Other than that there are no other details available on the new LG Android handset.

Apparently, according to Japanese website Datacider, the LG Optimus Vu has been prepared as a rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note, so perhaps the Optimus Vu will come brandishing some type of stylus like the Galaxy Note S-Pen.

Unfortunately the LG Optimus Vu teaser video doesn’t offer much insight into the smartphone either but it is at least worth a look so head on down and mash that play button to check out the very short footage.

Of course we’ll let you know more on the LG Optimus Vu as soon as we hear anything, perhaps as Mobile World Congress 2012 is coming up very shortly we’ll find out more then.
