For those with the Acer Iconia Tab A200 there’s good news if you haven’t already heard, as the Android ICS 4.0.3 update is now available for this device for US owners. We have further news on this today and also want to ask readers that have already received the update their views on it.
If you haven’t already received it the firmware OTA update will bring 4.0.3. Ice Cream Sandwich to your Iconia Tab A200, including an upgraded camera application. Ice Cream Sandwich has been a smash success since its launch last year and Android’s latest mobile operating system brings many benefits to users over the previous OS for smartphone and tablet users. The ICS updates have started to release for some devices and the Iconia Tab A200 is the latest in the lineup. This article tells how Acer has not yet confirmed the update but that it has already started rolling out.
Acer Tablet Forum’s Iconia Tab A200 users have reported that they have received Android 4.0.3 ICS via an over-the-air-update. Previously Iconia Tab A200 users were running the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and as well as the improved camera application users should be very satisfied with the extra battery life and performance from the ICS upgrade. As a brief recap of the Iconia Tab A200’s features and specs we can tell you that it has a 10.1-inch display with resolution of 800×1280, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and internal flash storage of 8 or 16GB. It also offers a MicroSDHC slot, USB port and front-facing 2-megapixel camera and the price is $330 or $350 depending on which storage you choose. If you haven’t yet received notification of the Android 4.0.3 update then you should be able to manually update by choosing Settings followed by About Tablet, System Update and then Check and you will see if the update is available yet. If not though, then be patient as it may take some days for the update to receive a full rollout.
