Expectations of Motorola Droid Razr with ICS 4.0.3 and Blur themes

There’s some interesting news today for Motorola Droid RAZR owners as images of this smartphone featuring an almost complete build of Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with Blur themes has emerged. The images displaying Android ICS came to light on a forum.

This is likely to get not only Droid RAZR owners excited but also those of you with other Motorola devices hoping for a taste of Android ICS as it seems a release may be ready soon even though there was previously some doubt. Plenty of screenshots of what appears to be the Droid RAZR with the Android ICS update have been shown on the DroidRzr forum and brought to our attention by Droid-Life. It looks then as though Motorola and Verizon are certainly working on the update, which at present shows plenty of Verizon bloatware, features from earlier Blur builds and apparent skinning.

What is shown is apparently Android 4.0.3 and Blur build 6.7.407 and seeing it in this form would suggest that it won’t be too long until a final build is ready. Strangely though when Motorola recently released a timeline of its devices to receive the ICS update it left off all of its Verizon devices. After seeing this build near completion it now seems possible that the Droid RAZR and maybe other Motorola Verizon devices waiting for the ICS update, were left off the timeline (see here) because they were due to be released very soon, rather than the Q2 and Q3 indications for other devices in the timeline.

Various images of the Droid RAZR and the near-ready Android ICS update show the ICS gallery editor, the new Blur camera app, dialer, incoming call screen, ICS folders and more and from what we’ve seen so far it’s looking promising. We certainly hope that this indicates an ICS update for the Droid RAZR and other Motorola Verizon devices much sooner than expected rather than later.

What are your expectations on the ICS update for the Droid RAZR? Are you the hopeful owner of a different Motorola smartphone on Verizon and hoping the update is also coming to you shortly? Let us know with your comments.
