Motorola Atrix price halved, cheap dual-core option

If you’re looking to purchase a new smartphone but are trying to save a few pennies, then Motorola’s Atrix handset may be just the ticket! Although it may not be the first device to spring to mind, the price, which we have to report, has now been halved thanks to one retailer.

According to itproportal.com, retailer Handtec has now lowered the Atrix price to £261.59, making it a worthwhile choice. With so many handsets currently on the market, the Atrix with its new price in tow has become one of the cheapest options.

In terms of specifications, the Atrix runs on Android’s 2.2 Froyo OS but is reported to be upgraded to the new Ice Cream Sandwich. The screen gives a 4-inch capacitive, 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra processor, 5MP rear camera with 2MP to the front, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, connectivity with WiFi and Bluetooth, 1930mAh battery and so on.

The Atrix stands out from other smartphones because of its laptop conversion thanks to a neat docking station, although we have to point out the extra ‘lapdock’ add-on will cost.

Check out one of our recent posts in which we’ve brought you news about the forthcoming Motorola Atrix 3 with possible specs, a real contender against the likes of Samsung’s new Galaxy S3 and Apple’s iPhone 5.
