Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note petition for the needy

The Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone has been a big hit since its release and has finally been released on AT&T in the U.S. Now though it seems that Verizon customers want to get a piece of Galaxy Note action too and a petition for needy potential customers has been established in an effort to make the Big Red sit up and take notice.

When the Galaxy Note was first unveiled there seemed to be some doubt about whether its whopping 5.3-inch display was too big with some noting it was more like a small tablet than a phone. However, those doubts were negated by huge sales in other regions before it finally hit stateside and the hybrid style seems to have found a real niche in the market. Indeed LG has already announced two more upcoming handsets to compete in the larger handset market, the LG Optimus Vu and LG Optimus 4X HD.

The Galaxy Note has really taken off then and it seems many Verizon customers would also like to see this smartphone on their own network and that’s where Change.org, the online petition site comes in. Change.org is currently carrying a petition entitled ‘Verizon Wireless, Inc: Carry the Samsung Galaxy Note a.k.a. Galaxy Journal.’ In the ‘why this is important’ notes an appeal to Verizon is made saying how the company has been groundbreaking in many ways.

However although praise is given for Verizon being the first to offer LTE, its excellent customer service and for bringing Androids to the fore, it also states that Verizon’s competitors are catching up and then gives the Galaxy Note on AT&T as an example of the next level of smartphone. The statement ends, “We the undersigned believe this device represents an overlooked market and a crucial opportunity, and we feel that VZW should capitalize on this opportunity by bringing the Galaxy Note (or Galaxy Journal, as it may be called) to store shelves with the big red V on it. Sprint’s customers are looking for it too; don’t be left behind on this one.” Whether the challenge to keep ahead of its competitors by also offering the Galaxy Note will be taken up by Verizon is not yet known but the petition is nicely worded and you never know, it may just work.

If you would also like to see the Samsung Galaxy Note on Verizon simply head to the petition at the Change.org link above and add your details to the petition. At the last count when we looked over 600 signatures to the petition had already been received so the numbers are racking up pretty quickly and the demand is certainly there. As more people become aware of the petition we would expect those numbers to rise rapidly and we’ll certainly be waiting to see if the Big Red can be influenced by a petition.

Will you be adding to the Galaxy Note on Verizon petition? Why do you want the Galaxy Note so much as opposed to the many other smartphones available? Is it mainly down to the size of the display?

I would like to not use my Xoom tablet 4g data plan plus my Razor phone with 4g data plan when I can insted have one device doing both functions on one 4g data plan. Simple issue, simple fix.
Wanted to buy the Samsung galaxy tab when it first came out until they turned off phone capability.

Consolidate that means they get less of your money thus the delay in giving you a device thats an ALL in 1 but the genie is out of the bottle as we speak other manufacturers are in the lab trying to get out the next series of 5.3″ + devices, in the mean time here I come At&t…LOL

Verizon is missing a big market for this phone, which is the 50+ market.

When we were all young, we were able to read super small print without glasses. At that time, though, we didn’t have cell phones….But now that most of us seniors do have cells phones, Verizon and other cell phone companies are really missing out on the fact that people 50+ (which is a HUGE market) want the bigger screens so that they don’t have to squint or put on two eyeglasses on top of each other (I admit, I have done this) just to see the cursed small screen.

My husband and I have been Verizon customers since the ’80s….yes, we caught on to cell phone technology really early on. We really like the huge screen on the Samsung Note. Verizon, you are crazy not to offer this phone and, in addition, start to market to your senior market. We don’t see much of that, but the 50+ crowd is a definite lucrative market you need to pursue.

Let me know when the NOTE is available, please.

Remember how long it took for Verizon to bring iphone.  I say lets not wait for any Galaxy Note in verizon; I am already shopping for AT&T service with Galaxy Note.

    1. Giovanna says:

I agree, but in my case, Verizon is the ONLY service that reaches my home with an adequate signal. I started out with AT & T, then Sprint, and realized immediately both services were inadequate.  Verizon it has to be. I’m hoping this phone will hit the market soon.

    2. Rawr. says:

Well it took Verizon that long to get the Iphone because the Iphone was on a five year contract with At&t. Apple was legally bound to AT&T until the contract ran out. It is highly possible it coule be the same with the Note but unlikely as Samsung already sells devices to Verizon. And even if Samsung doesn’t give Verizon the note another company will have one out soon enough.

  5. Chuck says:

If not NOW, WHEN.  What are you waiting for?  I have a three year old Storm that its’ on the way out and I have been watching the Note since it was just in europe last year.  I hope Verizon get them on board soon.

  6. Ntwkdesign says:

if it don’t get to Verizon soon I’ve already decided to move on to AT&T. If the carrier can’t offer the best service and best phone why stay. Coming in second in the hardware how long till service tanks too. Frankly I’m tired of waiting

  7. Derrickagonzales says:

this Galaxy Note is the maybach of phones…. as apple would be the toyota prius! either way i would love to have this big 5.3 inch screen on Verizon network!

  8. Novasport10@yahoo.com says:

I’m out of contract in a few days verizon. don’t want to leave, but the note not being available on verizon might be a reason to move on….

It’s so strange that Verizon doesn’t respond in any way to the demand for this phone. They could at least  let us know if they have any plans to add this phone to their offerings anytime soon. If I weren’t relegated to going with Verizon due to the fact it is the only service that adequately reaches my home, I would drop them in a moment. But we are all bound to our plans, or service area, so we are stuck. I listen to Leo LaPorte on KFI, and he seems to think there will be more such 5.3 ” phones on the horizon soon. It’s rather ironic that the “consumer” has to “wait” to spend his/her money on a new phone and monthly data plan. Looks like Verizon is doing so well in this depressed economy, they can ignore us all!

I am on the verge of leaving verizon wireless after more than a decade of subscription because I want the Galaxy Note.  One cellular plan is as good as the next as we all know, it is service and devices that make the difference.  There were articles in late 2011 talking about the Galaxy Journal being released.  What is the delay??

  11. freddyflash says:

come on verizon dont be a fool you know eveyone and i mean eveyone as a verizon customer is going to buy this phone do you really want to see your customers  leave over this im sure some already have and if you already know you guys are getting the journal well at least give us a small sign in relief im sure everyone will be excited espicially me

  12. Giovanna says:

Isn’t this incredible? We were one of the first Verizon customers, when cell phones were in their infancy (late 1980s I believe). Loyal supporters, and regular paying customers, over decades. How do we get paid back for our loyalty….with this kind of service. Verizon doesn’t even see fit to give us an update on the procurement of this phone.

May I ask, does Verizon corporate know of this blog? Maybe we should write them directly. If someone could provide an email, I would be the first to tell them my thoughts. They sent me a survey asking me why I hadn’t upgraded my phone (we are way overdue) and I told them point blank I was waiting for the Journal and why didn’t they respond. But of course, no response to this comment, and it has been a monty.

We are really just puppets in the hands of these cell phone monopolies. So sad, and frustrating. If Verizon weren’t the only company that provided strong coverage in my home area, I would be long gone, after all these years of loyalty.

  13. Djscoco12290 says:

Where is the petition, my wife and I would like to sign… this is ludicrous …. Verizon obviously has no reason to listen to what the customers are asking for and are willing to pay hundreds to buy…. + accessories – we only keep them in business. Why would we be priority? Verizon you are making your way to my sh*t list.

  14. The9world says:

They dont want the note because they get less of your money from all the tablets & phones with multiple data plans, thus the delay in giving you a device thats an ALL in 1 but the genie is out of the bottle as we speak other manufacturers are in the lab trying to get out the next series of 5.3″ + devices, in the mean time here I come At&t…LOL

When I saw the Samsung Note I had to check it out. Many reviewers on youtube had similar comments thinking at first that it was too big but then realizing it was not. I really really have wanted a larger phone for a long time, I am tired trying to look down at tiny letters on my company provided Blackberry to see what buttons to push. Additionally looking at overall small text on other small displays is just a bother. I went over to Costco yesterday to visit a Kiosk mobile phone booth and see the Samsung first hand.  Unfortunately they did not have a live one but they did have a model one. I held it in my hand and thought, we what do you know, it’s true, it really is not too big. I also put into my front pants pocket and it slid in just fine which dispelled the myth I had heard that you can’t really put it into your pockets.
The bad thing I found out was that it was only on AT&T but I have my whole family on Verizon.  I would have to change my whole family plan over in order to make the monthly cost of adding this phone financially practical. Otherwise I would be faced with paying an additional $90 a month just for to have myself on AT&T while my family remained on Verizon. So, I’m contemplating what to do.  However, lately I’ve been thinking about how great that larger display would look mounted on my car a I drive with a GPS application running. I’m seriously thinking of just paying the darn fine to Verizon to cut my connection to them and just move my whole family over to AT&T just to get that Samsung Note phone.

    1. Giovanna says:

I’m in a similar situation, as I live in an area where only the Verizon signal is strong enough to cover my entire house. Yesterday my husband called Verizon and when asked why we haven’t upgraded, he responded  “May I register a formal complaint?” The rep agreed and he had her submit a formal complaint regarding the Samsung Note (Journal) not being available. I would suggest all of us still with Verizon call our reps and complain. A massive phone blitz might help.
